چکیده

To increase oil sorption, polyurethane foams were modified with MoS2, ZnO grafting and/or hexadecanoic acid coating. The characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy + Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy and Contact Angle techniques. Three sorption tests performed. In 100% water, the ZnO-PC modification showed a reduction of 35.7% in seawater when compared to Un-PC. oil, there was 29-fold (more than 2803%) S46 lubricant Un-PC performance ZnO-PC. on multicomponent systems, lowest 0.01 ± 0.00 g.g-1 (HA-PC), 0.08 (Un-PC), 1.39 0.02 (Un-PC) for 20W40 engine lubricating diesel, respectively. highest systems 41.34 1.02 32.81 0.31 (MoS2-PC), 14.78 0.27 (ZnO-PC) reuse indicated that even after 10 cycles, foam kept its capacity unchanged. Post-consumer proved be effective different oils spilled into seawater, especially those grafted rods or impregnated MoS2.

Comment on "systematic investigation of the sorption properties of polyurethane foams for organic vapors".

A method was devised for combining experimental partition coefficients measured at different temperatures into a single regression correlation. The proposed method described the 265 experimental air-to-polyurethane ether adsorption coefficients reported by Kamprad and Goss (Kamprad, I.; Goss, K.-U. Anal. Chem. 2007, 79, 4222-4227) to within a standard deviation of 0.084 log units, which is comp...

Sorption of iodine by polyurethane and melamine-formaldehyde foams using iodine sublimation and iodine solutions

Iodine sorption by polyurethane (PU) and melamine-formaldehyde (MF) foams was studied using both iodine sublimation and iodine solutions with hexanes and toluene. In the sublimation process, the diffusion kinetics was investigated and the interaction between iodine and PU foams was characterized by DSC, TGA, Raman spectroscopy and electrical conductivity measurements. In the solution process, t...

Polyurethane Foams for Thermal Insulation Uses Produced from Castor Oil and Crude Glycerol Biopolyols.

Rigid polyurethane foams were synthesized using a renewable polyol from the simple physical mixture of castor oil and crude glycerol. The effect of the catalyst (DBTDL) content and blowing agents in the foams' properties were evaluated. The use of physical blowing agents (cyclopentane and n-pentane) allowed foams with smaller cells to be obtained in comparison with the foams produced with a che...

Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of Polyols from Rapeseed Oil and Properties of Flexible Polyurethane Foams

The application of raw materials derived from renewable feedstock has given rise to growing interest recently, as it can be exploited for the production of bio-based materials from vegetable oils. Their availability, biodegradability and low prices have been taken into account. In this work, vegetable oil-based polyols as a prospective replacement for petroleum polyols were investigated. A two-...

The Modification of Polyurethane Foams Using New Boroorganic Polyols (II) Polyurethane Foams from Boron-Modified Hydroxypropyl Urea Derivatives

The work focuses on research related to determination of application possibility of new, ecofriendly boroorganic polyols in rigid polyurethane foams production. Polyols were obtained from hydroxypropyl urea derivatives esterified with boric acid and propylene carbonate. The influence of esterification type on properties of polyols and next on polyurethane foams properties was determined. Nitrog...
